Allison Chinchar works as a forecaster of weather for CNN as well as HLN. She appears regularly in CNN's New Day Weekend and HLN's Weekend Express, as well CNN International. Before joining CNN, in June of 2015, she worked at several local radio stations, which included those in Atlanta and Nashville. The station covered blizzards and hurricanes and also flooding, wildfires. She was honored with an Emmy for the coverage she provided of Dorian. Dorian, which hit the Bahamas, in 2019. In April of 2011 she was a reporter for super tornado outbreak in which 350 tornadoes struck Southeastern United States within four days. Over 200 of them took place on April 27th, 2011. She has covered weather patterns, climate change and earthquakes and volcanoes due to her expertise in environmental science. Chinchar completed her bachelor's of Science degree in Atmospheric Science from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is an active member of a variety of organizations, including the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
