While still at school in 2009 she started her Feminist Frequency website. In 2009, the determined young lady was harassed by the Internet for starting a web series on gender in videogames. However the attack could have been a hindrance, rather it was a boost to her determination to be a feminist media critic. As a result of the many contributions she has made to feministism, she's awarded numerous prizes. Anita Sarkeesian won awards for her efforts as a critique of media and also founded Feminist Frequency. The nonprofit examines how women are depicted in pop culture today.
