Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on January. 19. 1946 to a poor family with 12 kids later on, realized early that she could escape the hardships of her life by using a creative mind. Her songs were written before she could write or read. Her first guitar was given to her when she turned eight. The singer began her singing career at a Knoxville Tenn station by the age of eleven. She recorded her first album in the same calendar year on Gold Band Records, a tiny independent label. Even though she was still in school, she had established a name for herself on the local scene. Her goal was to to play on a greater scale. When she graduated from high school in 1964, she immediately moved to Nashville. Her first charting records for Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. The syndicated television show of Porter Wagoner was in need of an additional singer around this point. Parton was hired in the year 1967, signed with RCA Records by 1968, and became a member of the Grand Ole Opry. It was not until 1974 that she decided to leave Wagoner's band because the popularity of her individual records like Joshua Coat, Many Colors and Jolene exceeded their collective efforts. Parton recorded I Will Always Love You for Wagoner in the aftermath of their breakup. The song reached the top of the charts at. #1 for the first time in 1974.
