Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya Taylor Joy is a 16-year old American who was born in Miami Florida. She is half English mixed with Spanish She is the child of Dennis Alan Taylor a former banker, and Jennifer Marina Joy a psychologist. The father of her was Argentine and has Scottish as well as English heritage. Her mother comes from Spanish and English roots. Taylor-Joy is one of the five children, four were born to Taylor's father's previous marriage. They lived in Buenos Aires until she was six years old, and then moved to the Victoria part in London. Taylor Joy claims that her move to England was extremely stressful. She refused to learn English and was hoping to return to Argentina. The school she attended had to be changed to Northlands and then Hill House. She then enrolled at Queen's Gate School, where she learned dance and participated in productions. At 16, she left school in order to pursue acting as a career. Taylor-Joy was always aware of her desire to work as an actor.
